Since you’re here reading this review of the Earth4energy DIY solar power guide, we’re going to assume that you’re interested in building your own solar panels or solar power system to help offset your energy costs. That’s great news because the Earth4energy plans can help you accomplish this surprisingly easily, mostly using supplies you can find at your local hardware store.

Earth4energy set out to create a guide that virtually anyone could follow, it doesn’t matter whether your a 12-year-old student doing a class project or a seasoned do-it-yourselfer looking for your next project to build, if you can follow along with the instructional videos, you can build the solar power system.

For those of you looking to build a wind turbine, don’t worry Earth4energy includes free the same type of plans and instructional videos to help you build your own wind generator, just like they do for the solar power system.

Earth4Energy Solar Guide: Our Pick For Best DIY Solar Guide.

Detailed description of the Earth4energy manual

Look at the detailed list of what is included in the $49.97 price tag

The Earth4Energy Solar Power System guide includes a six part instructional series that will take you from knowing nothing about solar energy to storing the power produced by your solar panels or wind turbine.

Part 1. Introduction to solar energy.

Learn the basics of solar energy.

Discover all the components that go into building a solar power system.

Our opinion of part one of the Earth4energy plans

We found it made a great primer for the rest of the course, this section will help get you up to speed learning the basics of solar energy and the parts involved in a solar power system.

Part 2. Building your solar panel.

Comprehensive set of plans, with color photos.

Nice set of instruction to help with any questions that come up.

Our opinion of part two of the Earth4energy plans

Maybe it was just us, but we found that we ended up getting lost a couple of times following the instructions, not that they were wrong, they could’ve just been laid out a little differently. This really wasn’t a big deal since most people we’ve talked to never even looked at this section, they went straight to the videos.

Part 3. The solar help package.

Solar Calculator.

Instructions on installing solar panels.

Complete wiring diagram

Learn more about about solar tax credits for the USA.

Our opinion of part three of the Earth4energy plans

We really liked this section since it covered a couple areas that other guides just plain left off such as wiring and solar panel installation.

Part 4. The Earth4Energy Video Series.

Following along with the videos will ensure things go right the first time.

Our opinion of part four of the Earth4energy plans

One more area where Earth4energy excelled was with their videos, this one section alone we would’ve paid $49.97 for, if you’re new to do-it-yourself projects than this is the part that you’ll really appreciate the most.

Part 5. Building a Wind Turbine.

Detailed instruction will walk you through every step to making a wind turbine at home.

Our opinion of part five of the Earth4energy plans

Now if you’re like us you probably weren’t very interested in building a wind turbine, but since there are included we decided to give it a try. The result was we were able to build a working power generating wind turbine in a little less than three days, not too bad for a freebie.

Part 6. (Bonus) Solar and Wind information video series.

7 new videos.

Approx run time 2 hours

Our opinion of part six of the Earth4energy plans

Take our word for it, do not miss this section, you’ll find lots of valuable information in it. We were able to use the information in the videos to run power to two different rooms in our house, saving us around 30% of our power bill per month.

Would we recommend the Earth4energy plans to a friend.

Yes and as a matter of fact we have several times, not only to friends but family also.

Does the Earth4Energy DIY Solar Power guide deliver on it’s claims?

Yes, you’ll be able to construct a solar panel at home, with very few problems if any. Although, we did find ourselves lost once during the soldering portion of the solar panel project, but were able to get back on track pretty quickly by rereading the plans and watching the instructional videos. (our fault, not the plans)

FreeEnergyOptions has put together a set of wind and solar plans to help save you money on you utility bills.

Before you read any further we would like to inform you that, while these plans do work and they’ll give you every step you need to build everything, they are very old and out of date.

They seem to be a rehashed version of the plans at treehugger, that have been out of date for the last 15 years.

We’ll save you some reading time and just tell you that they don’t meet the modern day standards set by other companies plans.

Detailed description of the FreeEnergyOptions manual

Look at the detailed list of what is included in the $48.95 price tag

The FreeEnergyOptions Solar and Wind Guide Includes a Giant manual that covers everything from

You’ll learn the step by step directions to create Wind Turbine.

Just as with the wind plans the manual also includes step by step directions to create Solar Panels.

Would we recommend the FreeEnergyOptions plans to a friend.

NO, while these plans will allow you to build some solar panels and a wind turbine, there are way better and easier to follow plans than these. .

Does the FreeEnergyOptions DIY Solar Power guide deliver on it’s claims?

No, they are so out of date they will be completely worthless. WE DO NOT ADVISE ORDERING THESE PLANS.

Videos covering the steps used to make your panels.

Guide explains how to build your own wind turbine.

Would we recommend the GreenDIYEnergy Plans to a friend.

Yes, We found that most people who ordered the plans offered at Green DIY Energy have been quite pleased with the final product, and have also mentioned how easy it was to follow along with the directions.

Does the GreenDIYEnergy Solar Energy guide deliver on it’s claims?

Yes, After purchasing the manual you’ll be able to construct a 60 to 100 watt solar panel that you can then connect to your Charge controller which connects to the batteries, from this point on your making free solar power.

No, not in the least bit, these plans are out of date, incomplete and sometimes just a plain copy of their competitors old plans.

Does the HomeMadeEnergy DIY Solar Power guide deliver on it’s claims?

Yes and no, if all you want to do is build either a solar panel or a wind turbine then his plans will work, but if you’d like to install them so you could actually run appliances, then your out of luck. There doesn’t seem to be any real step by step directions to hook the systems to your house, so you can take advantage of the sun or wind power produced.

Inside his instructions he does offer lots of great ways to reduce your power bill using mostly common sense tips.

Power4Home was founded by John Russel about 10 years ago after quitting his job as an electrician.
His stated goal was to teach people how to make their own electricity, since he wasn’t seeing the government doing anything to help lower the rising cost of power thoughout the country. (Pretty Nice Goal)

After he spent years researching the most efficient ways to start generating additional power, he released his manual – to bring solar to the masses.

He insists that by using his do it yourself guide, you could build a professional solar panel for a fraction of the cost of a retail bought panel.

Detailed description of the Power4Home DIY Solar manual

Detailed list of what is included in the $49.97 price tag

The Power4Home Solar Guide is divided into a three part manual.

Power4Home Guide 1. How To Easily Build Your Own Super-Efficient Solar Panels.

Step by step directions to easily build your solar power system.

Power4Home Guide 2. How To Install Your New Solar Power Plant.

Learn how to mount the system on your roof.

Safely connect the system to your house, using directions outlined by an electrician.

Power4Home Guide 3. Find Out How You Can Build A Wind Turbine.

Full set of directions to help you build your first wind turbine

Bonuses They Offer

3 Hours of videos covering all the steps used in the guide.

Would we recommend the Power4Home Plans to a friend.

No, not only did we find the plans to be incomplete and hard to follow, we also noticed striking similarities to an older version of one of its competitors. We don’t honestly think we’d recommend them to somebody we didn’t like.

Does the Power4Home Solar Energy guide deliver on it’s claims?

Kind of, you’ll really be able to build solar panels at home, but as far as reducing you bill by 75% or getting rid of it once and for all, we highly doubt it. That is unless you take the leap and go completely off the grid.

The major complaint we had and have heard other people complain about is the wind turbine plans are just plain JUNK.the

Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to build a solar panel. It doesn’t matter if you just want to get your feet wet with solar power before purchasing a full blown residential solar panel system or maybe you’ve decided this would make a great way to reduce your power bill. It doesn’t matter the reason, the important thing is your ready to do something about it.

By the end of this section you should understand the basics of what it takes to make a solar panel system, and how the pieces all come together.

What it takes to build a Solar Panel, then learn what additional parts you’ll need to go from homemade solar panel to a full blown Solar Power System – Everything from the panels to the inverter.

1.How To Build a Solar Panel – The Solar Panel:

This is pretty straight-forward, we’ve all seen a solar panel before. With a good set of plans you’ll be able to make a solar panel that looks like it was bought from a store, not built at home.

Before you read any further, if you plan on building your own solar power, you will need a set of plans. Take our word for it the Earth4energy plans are the best your going to find. You can order them by following this link to Earthenergy.

All the solar panel does is collect the rays from the sun and convert it into electricity.

2. How To Build a Solar Panel & Beyond – The Charge Controller:

From the solar panel the electricity travels down the wire to the charge controller that will feed the power into the batteries.

A charge controller will also make sure that you don’t overcharge your batteries, and help you monitor the amount of power stored in the batteries.

3. How To Build a Solar Panel & Beyond – The Batteries:

Power is simply stored in the batteries for later use. You can also run D/C appliances directly from your batteries.

Do not even think about using old car batteries, as these were not meant to be recharged on a regular basis, go with lead-acid batteries that are deep cycle.

If you decide to purchase the Earth4Energy Guide you will find lots of ideas as to where to locate the batteries at very cheap prices. Other people may want to look into refurbishing old forklift batteries, it’s up to you.

4. How To Build a Solar Panel & Beyond – The Inverter:

Now that we have all that power stored in our batteries we need to take the D/C power and convert it into A/C power that can be used to power virtually anything in your household.

All the inverter does is convert from D/C to A/C, allowing you to plug in and use the power your solar panels generate.

If you would like to learn more about the individual parts mentioned above just follow the links to the right.

There is a difference between solar plans
Just a little heads up for people looking to buy a set of plans to help them build a solar panel.
We have only found 1 set of plans that honestly take you from part 1 to part 4, and those are the ones offered at Earth4Energy.
All the other plans will teach you how to build a solar panel, but that’s really about it, they briefly tell you the other 3 parts, but don’t actually show you how to set it up.
So, if you want the complete solar power system plans, then do yourself a favor and get the correct plans from the beginning. You can order the complete plans by clicking the link below.

Did you know that adding solar panels to your home has many important benefits for you and your family? More people are starting to realize this every day and that is why so many people are choosing to install solar panels to their homes. Knowing the benefits to using solar panels will help you learn why you really need to start using this system for your own electricity needs.

One of the most important benefits to adding solar panels to your home is it will help you save a significant amount of money every month on your electric bill. You will be able to save up to 80% on your bill every month. Plus, if you produce more energy than what it takes to power your home, you can sell the extra electricity to the electric company and make some extra money. The electric company has to, by law, to buy an extra energy that you produce.

Another major benefit to adding solar panels to your home is that you will be helping your planet. With everyone “going green” these days, you will be doing what you can to help save the planet from further destruction. By using solar power, you will not be causing air pollution anymore because you will be using a natural resource to get the electricity you need.

With the energy resources we use these days disappearing, many people are realizing that solar power is the way of the future. Everyone is having to start finding other methods to get the energy they need for their homes because the other energy sources that have been used up to this point are rapidly disappearing before your eyes. So, people are starting to realize that if they don’t start using the natural resources that we already have, there may not be anything left eventually.

Did you know that when you add solar panels to your home, you will get a break at tax time? Many people don’t realize this, but Congress has passed a legislation that gives tax breaks to anyone that is using solar power for their homes. This is a way for them to start encouraging everyone to “think green” and help the environment.

Adding solar panels to your home means also that you will have a reliable and durable source of energy for a long time in the future. When you use solar power, you will find that you don’t have to replace anything for a lot of years. You will also find that there is very little maintenance involved in maintaining it.

These are the most important benefits to having a solar power house, but not all of them. You want to take time to research and learn all you can about solar power so you can see why it is being used by more people than ever. This is definitely the energy source for the future.

Have you been considering installing a solar panel system on your home? There are many people that are choosing to use solar power for many different reasons. Knowing what these reasons are will help you see why it is a good idea for you to be using this solar panels to get electricity for your home. This article is going to tell you those reasons so you can decide for yourself if this is your best choice.

One: Solar panels are definitely more efficient than other normal power sources. When you install a solar panel system on your home, you can save up to 80% on your monthly energy bill. The solar panels will use the sun’s rays to convert into energy which you can then use for your electricity to power your television, daily appliances and so on. This will definitely save you money, plus it will mean that you don’t have to worry about using the national power grid for your electricity needs.

Two: When you install a solar panel system to get electricity to your home, you will be reducing your electricity demands and lowering your monthly bill. Most homes need electricity for so many different things such as, MP3 players, computers, CD players, television, iPhones and so on. The more things that you have in your home that need power, the more it makes sense to use solar panels on your home because you will be saving in a lot of ways.

Three: One major reason why solar panels are being used these days is because it doesn’t have a negative effect on the earth. In other words, solar power means that you will not be putting off any pollutants such as, carbon dioxide. So, you won’t be affecting the earth’s atmosphere in a negative way, instead you will be having a positive effect on it. You will be doing your part to help save the earth.

Four: With a solar panel system, you can place it pretty much anywhere, as long as there is plenty of sun and no obstacles in the way of them getting sun such as, lots of trees.

These are the main reasons why you should have a solar panel system installed for your home’s electricity. There are other reasons that you can learn about with a little research. You want to make sure that you take time to consider all of these reasons because this will help you decide if you should be using solar power for your home. Don’t make this decision lightly.

Are you trying to decide if you should go for a full blown solar panel installation? There are many people that are choosing this energy source for their home for a lot of different reasons. You need to take the time to decide a few things and also to figure out if a solar panel installation would work to get your home the electricity you need. This article is going to tell you how you can decide if solar power is right for your home.

Here are the things that you have to consider before deciding if a solar panel installation would be right for your home.

One: Will you be living in your home for a long time? This is important because installing solar power in a home means that it stays with that home because you won’t be able to take it out and take it with you. So, you have to make sure that you are going to be in your current home for long enough to get back what you invest into a solar power system.

Two: Is there big enough area on your roof to install solar panels that gets at least 6 hours of sunlight every day? For solar panels to work their best, the solar panels need to be placed where they will get the most direct sunlight each day. Don’t put them on an area of your roof that has a lot of trees because this will block the sun from reaching the solar panel system.

Three: Do you feel comfortable walking around on your roof? This is important because if you are going to install a solar power system yourself, you will have to be up on your roof to do it; otherwise, you might want to have someone else install it.

Four: Do you want to do the solar panel installation yourself, or have someone do it for you? This is important to decide for two reasons. One is that you have to make sure if you are going to have the work done for you that you find a reputable company. Two is that it will be more expensive to have the work done for you. So, take time to definitely take this into consideration.

These are the most important things to take into consideration when you are trying to decide if you should be using home solar power. Do some research to learn all you can about solar panel installation before you decide what to do. Just make sure that you take all of these things into consideration before you decide.

Residential solar power is becoming more popular every day because it can help you save a significant amount of money on your energy bill every month. There are many reasons why solar power is becoming more popular every day. Knowing these reasons can help you see why so many people are choosing to use residential solar power for their homes.

Here are the reasons why residential solar power is so popular.

One: One of the reasons that solar power panels is a good idea for a lot of people is because once you get it installed, it is pretty much maintenance free. This means that the upkeep of your solar power panels will be very low.

Two: Solar panels are known for having a long life span, which means that you won’t have to replace them all the time. This will save you money in the long run.

Three: Solar power panels are made in all different shapes and sizes, which means that no matter what your home’s design is, you can pretty much install solar power almost anywhere.

Four: Solar panels in recent years have seen great advances in technology, which means that it is becoming more affordable for everyone. Gas and oil prices continue to rise, the economy gets worse by the day, so more and more people are turning to solar power panels to help them save big money. The sun will give you all the energy you need for your home and will then convert that energy to electrical power using generators. This is a much cheaper way to power your home with electricity.

These are not the only reasons why residential solar power is becoming more popular everyday, but they are the most important ones. Now that you know why it is becoming popular, you need to know some important factors to take into consideration before you decide to use solar power for your home.

One: How much sunlight does your home get? This is important because if your home is always in shade, or it is cloudy and rainy all the time where you live, then solar power panels may not be your best choice. So, you have to take the weather and how much sun your home receives into consideration because this will make a difference in how well it works to provide energy for your home.

Two: You’ll also have to take into consideration your local ordinances. There are some cities that will not allow you to use solar power. So, check with your neighbors and check the laws regarding this before you decide to use residential solar power.

These are the most important factors to take into consideration before deciding to install residential solar power at your home. Now that you know the reasons that so many people are using solar power and the important factors to consider, you can make an informed decision about whether this is the best choice for you. It is for a lot of people, but not for everyone.
