It may seem obvious, but in order to store the energy produced by your solar panels, you will need batteries.
Just like most people, we don’t mind spending the time building something, as long as we are able to use it and save some money at the same time. We found that a little time spent reconditioning free batteries saved us a bundle on this project and allowed us to have a much larger battery bank than we had first thought we’d end up with.
You’ll find out like we did that the plans are very detailed, so there is no reason for us to go into great detail concerning the batteries.
What type of batteries should you use with your solar power system
Our set of plans called for deep cell batteries, so that was exactly what we looked for. The problem we ran into was, these batteries a very expensive, like over $100 per battery.
We then decided to collect all the so called dead deep cell batteries we could get our hands on, another problem arose, we thought it would be way more difficult to get these than it turned out. In a matter of 3hours we already had 11 batteries. (6 of the batteries came from one place, and they had even more they were trying to get rid of.)
Now that we had all these so called dead batteries, what were we going to do with them all.
That’s when we ordered a set of instructions about how to recondition batteries at home and for cheap. This sounded like it was the perfect solution, and it was.
The instructions we ordered cost right around $50 and worked just as stated, no scam here.
Truth of the matter is, this was probably the best 50 bucks we spent. We were able to recondition our free batteries and build a very nice size battery bank to store the power our home-built solar panels system was producing.
If you’d like to use the same instructions we use to recondition batteries, just follow this link.
